Peer Mentor/PAC

The Peer Mentors are a group of students who applied for the position and want to make a difference in our school. They are students who have pledged to be honest, welcoming, responsible, and caring towards themselves and others. Another goal of the program is to connect students across grade levels and provide a more comfortable and smooth transition for students coming to middle school. We look to them to serve as role models for their fellow peers and classmates. Many of our goals and activities are based on the principles of Project Adventure’s Full Value Contract. These values are: Be Here, Be Safe, Let Go and Move On, Commit to Goals, Be Honest and Care for Self and Others.

Peer Mentors will participate in activities that may include helping with Red Ribbon Week, co-teaching classroom guidance lessons, teaching lessons at Stonybrook, assisting with lessons at Kiel School, and serving as escorts during Career Day. Furthermore, Peer Mentors will have the opportunity to meet in small groups with our 6th graders to assist in their transition to middle school as they learn about their new environment.

Applications to become a Peer Mentor are open to 6th and 7th graders each spring (usually end of April) and have that role for one calendar year.

We are excited about the activities and ideas the Peer Mentors provide throughout the year at PRM!

If you have questions about our Peer Mentor Program, please reach out to Co-Advisors, Mrs. McClain and Mrs. Strunz
