About the Department
At Pearl R. Miller Middle School, our Fine and Performing Arts Department is a vibrant hub of creativity, self-expression, and artistic exploration. We believe that art and music are essential components of a well-rounded education, providing students with unique opportunities to discover their talents and develop important life skills through comprehensive musical and visual arts programs.Our arts program helps students build self-confidence, develop creative problem-solving skills, learn teamwork and collaboration, and express themselves in unique and meaningful ways.
The Pearl R. Miller choir program welcomes students from all grade levels (6th, 7th, and 8th grades), offering chances to develop vocal skills, learn music theory, build confidence through performance, and explore various musical genres. Additionally, we provide exciting instrumental music opportunities, including band ensembles, individual instrument lessons, group practice sessions, and performance opportunities throughout the year.
Our art program is a cycle class that explores different artistic mediums, with creativity-building exercises and skill development in drawing, painting, and other mediums. Students can engage in a supportive environment that encourages artistic growth and self-expression.
